God is still molding me....

Ever have one of those days where things just don't seem to go right? Well, seems like I have had several of them lately.

Most days, I get the kids off to school and then come back home and read my devotional bible. Well, I didn't read my bible the other day or even pray as I was "too busy". So, late that night I was working on my candles and I was trying to print out the labels.

Now, my labels are saved in a file, so all I ever do is pull them up and print. Never a problem. This day that I didn't make time for the Lord my labels wouldn't align right - they were way up high off the label and off to the left off the label. I thought how odd.

But, as soon as I thought it was odd, I realized that I hadn't made time for God that day. I have always felt very low when I didn't make time to read my bible or to pray and I really feel like God has let me know that I always need to make time for him no matter what.

I just got an e-mail from encouragment for today and there was a posting by Rachel Olsen about this same thing. Somebody asked her how she finds time for God. Rachel responded that she doesn't find time that she makes time.

I got the e-mail the day after my labels woudn't print correctly so I KNOW in my heart that God was talking to me so I will now obediently listen.

Oh, those childhood memories...

Does anybody remember the old anita ward song ring my bell? Well, somehow this afternoon Kara said something that reminded me of that song. The lyrics would not get out of my head so Brittany taught me how to go online and find the video on google. I am so internet/computer illiterate! Anyway, I found the video and it really wasn't all that I rememered it to be, lol. But, I sang the song anyway, and made each of my girls chime in and they all thought the song was pretty bad. It was so much fun at any rate.

Haven't been on in a while...

Have had a pretty busy summer. The kids were gone for the most part and I had to recently go to Louisiana twice to visit my dad as he has been in and out of the hospital. Please keep him in your prayers as he isn't doing too good. I pray that he isn't in more pain than necessary and that he will be able to bear what pain he does has. He has congestive heart failure and was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. In his treatment of radiation, somehow they messed up his good lung so his battle is really tough right now. He was in ICU on life support just a little over 2 weeks ago and by the grace of God he got better. He went home and now he refuses to go back to the hospital as my stepmom let him know when he was in the hospital how difficult his medical bills were putting a strain on them financially. He doesn't want to be a burdon, financially or otherwise, so he just wishes to stay home and take whatever comes. Before he went home from the hospital, he was ready to stay in there and get better - which he was as he was getting very strong. Now he is home and he is very week again.

Our cruise...

We went on a cruise in April. It was so much fun. We went to Orlando and sailed out of Port Canaveral. We sailed first to a private island "Coco Cay" and it was just "out of this world" beautiful. I get so amazed at how beautiful God's creation is at times. This island was untouched by modernization. There were only a handful of people that lived there and they had this house that looked liked it may have been a duplex type of house. There was another smaller house and maybe a couple more, but they were all together in one spot. The beach area had these straw huts - no paved roads, just dirt ones and they either walked or rode in golf type carts. No stores - Nothing! Well, they did have these straw huts and wooden huts where they sold their crafts as you docked. They have to boat to the nearest island and I can't remember how far, but I think the lady said 5 miles. I asked them what they do in case of a hurricane and she told me they go to Nassau (now we left there at 5 p.m. and headed for Nassau and we didn't get there until 7:30 the next morning). What a long ride to Nassau but maybe they are going much faster than a cruise ship? The people were so friendly and I could have stayed on that island forever. Warren and I took a hike on the hiking trail and I thought it would never end, lol. We saw iguana's and chickens. The chickens were a bit of a surprise, lol. But the iguanas were plenty - they were everywhere. After our hike, we came back to the beach and Warren stretched out on the hammock for a while. We boarded the ship around 4:30 and then we headed for Nassau.

Now, Nassau was too crowded for me, but we had fun just walking around. I video taped a few of the school kids. Quite a few were headed to the states for college in the fall. Every child there wears a uniform to school where it was public or private. I videoed several different kids in different uniforms. One little boy asked me how I liked his truck and he pointed to a hummer, lol. I just couldn't get over how friendly the people were. We saw the "pink house" where the anna nicole smith saga went on - didn't see Larry or Howard or her mother, though...hehe. Did manage to see a poster of anna nicole at the entrance to this tattoo parlor - she had a tattoo of her two kids tattooed on her shoulder, I think it was. I couldn't believe how real the tattoo looked. We saw the Atlantis resort and did a tour there and all I can say is WOW. I could never pay that much to stay anywhere as I am too cheap, but the Michael Jackson room at $25,000 a night! If I had that kind of money I could never pay that still!!! Do you know what you could do with $25,000 - LOTS! We found Justin a pirate shirt, got the girls some very cheap topaz that we will have set a ring for them. They all got a different cut so it was kind of neat.

We left there at midnight Wednesday and headed back to Florida. We sailed all day Thursday and didn't arrive back until Friday morning. Thursday I just sat around the poolside and got some sun and listened to the band play the lovely carribbian music. I could have sat there all day, but had to keep getting up to "explore" as it was our last day. Oh, we heard one comedian and he was so good and clean. I came home and researched him and found out why he was clean. Rodney Johnson, I think was his name - but anyway, I think he was a deacon at his church and maybe his dad and brother too (or maybe his dad and brother were pastors?). I am getting old timers as I can't remember things, lol. If you ever get a chance to hear him he is well worth it. I just wish now that I had bought his cd.

Ya'll guess what? This cruise was free. We kept getting phone calls to come to a resort and you receive a free gift. Well, we kept ignoring the phone calls and one day Warren finally answered the phone so they would stop calling. Warren thought, "why not?". So, we drove to Conroe to this resort and we actually did get a free cruise. We came home and filled out the paperwork and it was actually for real. We did not buy the timeshare either! So, now I am just waiting for my next phone call....... Come on phone... RING!!!! Will try to attach photos of our trip later. I am just not that computer savvy. You wouldn't think I have a website for my business, but every time I have to post a new picture I have to "relearn" how I did it the first time...hehe. I know I have a picture on my site now that has the "red x" in it and I have to figure out how to get the picture in...hehe.

This is my first...

time to ever post on a blog, lol. I am so new at this, but I feel it is time to "put myself" out there as I am always shy and don't speak too much to my fellow church members. I feel that if I have this blog, then you all can "get to know me" and I won't be able to hide anymore, lol.
